MUFG_51 Lime Street

WORKSPACE

MUFG’s new HQ at 51 Lime Street sits amongst some iconic neighbours in the heart of London’s Square Mile, overlooking the Lloyds Building, The Scalpel, 122 Leadenhall and The Gherkin to name a few. This is a great example of repurposing & enhancing an existing working environment to incorporate a stunning & adaptable front-of-house meeting suite to meet our Client’s global brand identity, whilst ensuring sustainable practices & cost-conscious solutions.

Our brief was to retain the existing Cat B workplace fitout & furniture as far as possible to meet budget limitations. Therefore, the primary focus was establishing a new front-of-house, arrivals & meeting space with transparency and connectivity to the amazing London skyline, as well as rejuvenating the dated working environment and welfare provision on the floor.

With clever and cost-effective interventions, the existing palette and materiality was cooled down to match our client’s brand identity – through the swapping out of workstation screens, reconfiguration & rationalisation of complicated existing desk clusters, respraying of bright partition frames, updates to tea-points, repurposing loose furniture from other office sites, and the ethical clearance and charity donations for superfluous loose furniture items.

This project was heavy on the services co-ordination to separate and upgrade out-of-date MEP and to ensure transfer of client systems and easy connectivity with the client’s other office portfolio.
